From time immemorial this farm house and went by the name Huerta del Marqués, because it surely its correlation with the Marquis and Benamejí Manor, who belonged to both peoples Benamejí and Palenciana. The house still retains the traditional flavor of those years in which the movement of people, animals and goods passing "La Barca" as their main activity. Was definite as it had a large boat covering over Genil River, of considerable width, for this area. This boat was the nexus of trade union of the peoples of Benamejí and Palenciana and witnessed many exchanges of goods and animals.The ferryman who lived in the house worked the farm and provided service in the passage of the boat on the River Genil.
The house is built using local materials predominate stone, plaster, wood and tile Arabic type.
